About

Located in Shelbyville, Kentucky, the Stubblefield Repeater Club was and named after Nathan B. Stubblefield.  In 1908 Nathan Stubblefield received a U.S. patent for his invention of a wireless telephone (we call it a radio) that used magnetic induction.  Nathan B. Stubblefield was a native of Murray, KY.  Kentucky is where Stubblefield began giving demonstrations of his invention of broadcasting via radio frequency before advertising and promoting his invention all the way to Washington, DC.

Since the inception of the Stubblefield Repeater Club in 1983, we have developed into a very active social club.  We value the input and ideas of our members.

 MISSION

To provide a medium for training amateur radio operators.

  • Assist applicants who may wish to become licensed amateur radio operators.
  • Exchanging ideas and providing activities to increase our members’ knowledge and expertise in this highly technical field.
  • Provide communication assistance for governmental agencies and non-profit organizations.
  • Stubblefield Repeater Club provides assistance and emergency communications in conjunction with Amateur Radio Emergency Service (A.R.E.S.).
